Used in the sub-surface injection of foam solution for tank fire fighting protection. Normal application method is to introduce foam solution at the base of the tank allowing the solution to float to the top of the burning liquid forming a foam blanket and extinguishing the fire. This is considered a fixed foam extinguishing system and is usually utilized on tanks which have a roof or covering.
