Foam Chamber
Features
Foam chambers are a combination of a mixing chamber and a foam maker which combines a mixture of foam solution and air, delivering it to a burning flammable liquid. The application is usually made near the top of a storage tank which allows the foam to slide down the inside tank wall to the fuel level. In the case of a “dyke type” foam maker, application is made to the tank dyke where it flows over the levy onto the ground area around the outside of the tank. The orifice used determines the rate of flow of foam solution. The foam solution for any type of foam chamber is usually supplied by separate equipment such as a fire truck, or a fixed system such as a bladder tank, etc. The combination of the foam chamber, related piping and the method of mixing the foam solution constitute a complete fixed foam system package.
