Forcing Foam MakerMagnum's forcing foam maker, or high back pressure foam maker, is a device which allows pre-proportioned AFFF solutions to be air aspirated, expanded to a 4:1 nominal ratio and forced into a filled storage tank against the back pressure caused by friction loss through the delivery piping and the head pressure of the liquid within the product storage tank. The forcing foam maker is particularly used for subsurface injection of foam solutions. The forcing foam makers are capable of operation against a resistance, or back pressure, of up to 25% of their inlet pressure; i.e., a 50 psig inlet pressure will allow a back pressure of 37.5 psi and still function properly.
